Training

How much you currently know about the lawn service business is not important. We'll teach you everything you'll need to operate your own Scotts LawnService business.

Our training program combines intensive classroom sessions, in which we stress the technical side of caring for turfgrasses, with invaluable hands-on experience. When the sessions end, you'll know more about caring for lawns than you ever imagined.

Realizing that success in any business today depends in no small measure on the latest computer technology, we'll give you thorough training on the computer software system that is part of your Scotts LawnService franchise package.

The classroom portion of your training focuses on the proven systems and procedures that will make your franchise operate efficiently and effectively.

In addition to the classroom portion of the training, in-the-field experience is provided in one of the established Scotts LawnService branches. Here you'll get "hands-on experience" in real-life situations. You'll make lawn visits, evaluate lawn problems-and you'll solve them. Then you'll deal with the day-to-day operation of a lawn service office. When the branch visit ends, you'll be ready to use all you've learned to work in your own Scotts LawnService franchise.

But the training and support doesn't end there. In fact, it never ends. We will constantly update you on new developments through visits from our headquarters staff, as well as seminars, printed bulletins, and email updates. Annual meetings will give you an opportunity to learn about new developments in the industry, but also to share experiences with your fellow Scotts LawnService franchisees.

And should you ever run into any seemingly unsolvable lawn problems, you have the world's largest turfgrass research facility to back you up. These are Scotts research professionals who know grass inside and out. And they are there when you need them.
